As cybersecurity concerns enter the forefront of the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) industry, there is a growing need amongst DER equipment manufacturers to adopt standardized best practices for cybersecurity that are backed by industry tested and approved methods. The SunSpec Alliance has anticipated this need, and with the efforts of the SunSpec & Sandia DER Cybersecurity Working Group, has produced the industry’s first DER cybersecurity certification.
In this webinar, SunSpec Chairman, Tom Tansy, will share a presentation on the SunSpec Cybersecurity Certification for IEEE® 2030.5™ Client Gateways, including what it protects against, what is included in the initial offering, and how companies can get it.
As a low cost add-on to the mandated IEEE 2030.5 Certification, this entry-level SunSpec Certification is designed to familiarize the market with cybersecurity as a differentiating factor in the product ecosystem, and to serve as a potential check box on the roadmap to achieving further certifications.
