The SunSpec Alliance is hiring a new Director of Member Services. This position became available when the previous director was promoted to Executive Director. The individual in this role will be a partner to the Executive Director on virtually all aspects of the organization but will primarily be focused on engaging with current- and prospective Members.
Job Duties:
- Member Recruitment and Retention
- Work with the Executive Director to set and achieve membership revenue, engagement, and retention goals
- Maintain a high level of familiarity with all SunSpec intellectual property (specifications, certification procedures, educational programs, web site) in order to efficiently direct SunSpec members to the information they seek
- Recruit new members, prospect for opportunities to sell paid member services, and renew/retain existing members
- Develop and manage Membership, Certification, and Education pipelines
- Work with member purchasing departments to achieve/maintain qualified vendor status
- Handle new member onboarding and develop individual member engagement plans
- Provide tier 1 technical support of all SunSpec standards and technologies
- Nurture perspective members by offering support to visitors of SunSpec.org
- Address and resolve all information requests from existing SunSpec members
- Member Programs
- Plan and manage workgroup programs
- Maintain SunSpec Work Group calendar and facilitate all meetings
- Plan and manage monthly webinar programs
- Plan and manage education programs
- Work with the engineering lead to administer the the product certification process
- Coordinate with Members, Authorized Test Labs, and SunSpec engineers to complete product Certifications
- Plan and manage annual meeting
- Improve SunSpec.org by providing insight gained from working with SunSpec members
- Operations and Outreach
- Contribute in strategic planning sessions
- Coordinate with Members and SunSpec team to execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and events
- Manage and maintain SunSpec web properties
- Work with the Executive Director and marketing contractor to publish monthly newsletter
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, engineering or a related field
- Strong interest in renewable/distributed energy and power engineering
- Familiarity with public policy at the state- or national level
- Affinity for working with technical executives and engineers
- Enthusiastic, inquisitive, and detail focused
- Independent, analytical, structured, and team-oriented manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Two years of non-profit 501(c)6 experience
- Experience with and/or exposure to operational software (e.g. Quickbooks, Mailchimp, Copper, TeamWork, Eventbrite, Google Docs, etc.)
- Accounting and general business management skills are a plus (issues invoices, scheduling reminders, closing invoices out in Quickbooks)
Work Location:
Strong preference for candidates residing in Los Angeles or San Jose, CA. This is a work-from-home/work-from-shared-office position that also requires the ability to travel for twice-per-month working sessions with the Executive Director, quarterly industry events, and annual member meeting.
Compensation:
- Compensation will depend on the individual’s background and qualifications but SunSpec is seeking to hire someone in the $75,000 to $100,000 annual salary range. The position also includes an annual bonus plan of up to 15% of your annual salary which means total compensation is in the range of $86,250 to $115,000 per year.
