SunSpec Alliance Announces Partnership with the Resilient Infrastructure + Secure Energy (RISE) Consortium – SunSpec Alliance

June 28, 2021

The SunSpec Alliance is proud to announce its partnership with the Resilient Infrastructure + Secure Energy (RISE) Consortium™, a collaboration of industry and academic research institutions working together to identify challenges, needs, and opportunities in resilient power on behalf of the United States Federal Government.

Working alongside innovators and experts from each sector of the energy industry, SunSpec will help guide RISE in its mission to address system-level cybersecurity concerns for the electrical sector, in order to build a secure energy infrastructure for the United States.

“The RISE Consortium is excited to welcome SunSpec to its growing membership,” said Michael Wu, RISE Consortium Executive Director. “To solve complex climate and energy security challenges, we need innovative members that bring both their novel technologies and influential voices to build a stronger, more resilient nation. SunSpec is a valued member with Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Cybersecurity capabilities.”

This partnership will provide members of the SunSpec Alliance with valuable opportunities to be informed by top-level industry speakers and to influence policy and decision making surrounding energy and resilience, new standards, and programs.

“In order to accelerate the deployment of distributed energy technology, the industry must first address the system-level cybersecurity challenges, said Tom Tansy, Chairman of the SunSpec Alliance. “By joining the RISE Consortium, SunSpec will be able to lend our expertise in the field of DER Cybersecurity towards innovation in policy and business, while keeping our members informed about the latest industry breakthroughs and developments.

As always, we encourage our members to reach out and share any questions, thoughts, or feedback surrounding this initiative.
