Certification Application

Select the SunSpec Certification program for your product and complete the application below. Certification fees are $5,000 for SunSpec Alliance members and $10,000 for non-members.
Certification and testing are separate services. Available testing pathways vary by certification program and may include testing through a SunSpec Authorized Test Laboratory, SunSpec Express Test, or another pathway approved by SunSpec.
SunSpec Express Test is available for SunSpec Modbus and SunSpec Modbus for IEEE 1547. The fee is $5,000. Remote and witness-testing options are available. Manufacturers may use the tool of their choice for witness testing.
Manufacturers are recommended to use commercial software from a SunSpec Authorized Test Software Provider for product development, pre-certification testing, and approved certification testing. Current Authorized Test Software Providers include DER Security Corp. and QualityLogic. SunSpec Certification is tool agnostic and evaluated based upon the detailed test results defined by the relevant specification rather than the pass/fail indication of any individual tool.
Purchasing or using test software does not independently confer SunSpec Certification. SunSpec must approve the testing pathway and required evidence for each application.
