Dear *|FNAME|*,

While reflecting back on the year’s past, it is clear that the SunSpec Alliance is fueled by an industry of dedicated, hard working individuals and organizations. From our work groups participants, to our webinar attendees, we are consistently impressed by the level of engagement and support from our members and followers.

With that said, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Happy Holidays to our entire ecosystem and say a special thanks to our members who have demonstrated next-level support and dedication throughout the year:

  • Jay Johnson of Sandia National Labs – for leading the SunSpec & Sandia DER Cybersecurity working group for the fourth year and helping to build participation in the DER Cybersecurity initiative to more than 1,000 people.
  • Rodney McGee of University of Delaware and Gordon Lum of Kitu Systems  for leading the development of the SunSpec vehicle-to-grid profile for IEEE 2030.5 that complements the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) J3072 standard.
  • Nuvation Energy – for providing a great example (in their December webinar) of how to use SunSpec Modbus technology to deliver energy storage solutions that use recycled EV batteries.
  • Jan Rippingale of Blu Banyan and Cliff Hansen of Sandia National Labs – for leading the Orange Button open source community and securing key design wins with Titan Energy.
  • All of our friends in Australia (Horizon Energy, SA Power, PXiSE Energy Solutions, AEMO) – for working with us to develop the IEEE 2030.5 profile for Australia known as “CSIP-Aus”.

It is with the support of these individuals and organizations, as well as the broader ecosystem of SunSpec members, that we are able to shape the future of the Distributed Energy revolution and drive progress towards a renewable energy future.

With a host of exciting announcements coming in January, we ask you to please stay tuned to find out what’s in store for the SunSpec Alliance in 2022.

Kind Regards,

Tom Tansy
Chairman
