SunSpec Modbus Energy Storage Survey

Introduction

When the SunSpec Alliance first published its SunSpec Modbus Energy Storage models in 2017, the energy storage industry was in its infancy and the IEEE 1547-2018 standard had not been published. Popular Distributed Energy Resource (DER) markets for energy storage were residential and commercial solar installations needed for backup power or peak rate arbitrage.

Much has changed since 2017—bigger batteries, more storage types, bigger markets—so it is time to refresh the SunSpec Modbus Energy Storage standard. If you are involved with Energy Storage technology, please complete this short survey so that we can understand your needs and invite you to collaborate with us on the SunSpec Modbus Energy Storage standard.
