Dear *|FNAME|*,
Entering 2022, the SunSpec Alliance is anticipating yet another year of unprecedented growth. From record-setting additions of new members each month (already seven in January!), to rapidly increasing numbers of products being certified to SunSpec standards, the Alliance is on track to grow in-step with the broader Distributed Energy and Electric Vehicle industries.
Building on the momentum started in 2021, SunSpec will once again be presenting a monthly series of educational webinars featuring special topics in DER communications, cybersecurity (co-hosted by Sandia National Laboratories), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) integration. As a unique benefit of membership, we offer companies the opportunity to co-host webinars featuring their implementations and use cases of SunSpec solutions. Nuvation Energy hosted an excellent example of this last December. We encourage any company interested in hosting a webinar with us to become a member and submit your topics via the Member Portal.
On the subject of V2G communication, this month celebrates an exciting announcement from the SunSpec IEEE 2030.5 / SAE J3072 EV Charging Profile Work Group. On January 25th, the work group published the first draft of the IEEE 2030.5 V2G AC Profile for public comment. The document can be downloaded here, with the opportunity to submit technical comments available until March 15, 2022. We encourage all interested parties to attend the announcement webinar on February 3rd, 2022 at 9 a.m. Pacific.
Finally, in order to keep the quality of SunSpec service high while also covering the cost of operations, starting March 1, 2022, SunSpec will be increasing its annual membership fee from $3,100 to $4,000 per year. With this change, SunSpec is expanding the array of high-value services available to Contributing Members to help you deliver your DER/V2G products to market and implement DER/V2G communication networks in the field.
Until February 28, 2022, current SunSpec members may extend their memberships for up to two years at the price of $3,100 per year. Even if you recently renewed your membership, this offer still applies. If you are not yet a member, now is a great time to join the SunSpec Alliance! To learn more about the new and existing benefits for Contributing Members, read the full message.
As always, we thank you for participating in the SunSpec Alliance and please do not hesitate to reach out to Member Services at membership@sunspec.org with questions or concerns. We hope you stay with us for years to come as we build the DER and V2G industry together.
